How does the Clinical Trial Map work?

The Purple Map System is a "Smart" map system. Every 15 minutes the system automatically pulls new clinical trials from approved and vetted sources. This allows for the map to display the most up to date cancer trial information. The Purple Map is the first of its kind in the Childhood Cancer world. Our hope is that it allows families and patients alike to gain access to life saving information quickly and accurately.

What is a clinical trial?

Although there are many definitions of clinical trials, they are generally considered to be biomedical or health-related research studies in human beings that follow a pre-defined protocol. There are two types of studies: Interventional and Observational. Interventional studies are those in which the research subjects are assigned by the investigator to a treatment or other intervention, and their outcomes are measured. Observational studies are those in which individuals are observed and their outcomes are measured by the investigators.

Help The Purple Society

One hundred percent of the donor gifts to The Purple Society are spent on helping families get the information and advocacy needed to fight this disease. Other private grants do and will continue to underwrite our
infrastructure and fundraising efforts.
