What a SPECIAL day it was for all that were blessed to participate in such a monuments day! The 2012 Survivors day was made possible by Banner Cardons Children’s Hospital. This year it was held at the Museum of Natural History. All the families got a chance to spend time in the museum (free of charge) then gathered in the main hall for cookies and ice cream as well as lots of goodies to take home with them. The Purple Society needs to send a special THANK YOU to Lucy, Bruce, and Jesse from Frys Marketplace on Tatum and Shea for donating over 400 cookies to the event. We are proud to call Frys Marketplace a PURPLE PARTNER! Lucy, Bruce, Jesse…You guys ROCK!!! Needless to say the kids LOVED the cookies! Aviona and Isabella helped the children color survivor hats and make courage braceletes. Suzann and myself spent time talking to the parents and siblings about their experiences. We felt Nitalia everywhere! At one time there was a strong Purple light that was shining through the doorway (you can see it in some of the picture from the event). Every time we are with the families, we feel Nitalia so intensely that we can barely keep from crying! Our family feels so blessed to be able to continue forward with Nitalia’s dream of helping EVERY family facing childhood cancer! The day ended with a great raffle for gift baskets. The tickets for the raffle were given to the families for free, and the baskets were beautiful. Our PURPLE POWER basket was chock full of incredible gifts for that special Purple Warrior! It had a new iPod, an iTunes card so they can get some music and movies on that new iPod, a handmade Nitalia’s Blanket, a handmade teddybear, a custom embroidered flexfit Purple Society cap, our new handmade Purple Society Amethyst and Sterling Silver Bracelet, and so much more!!! Isabella picked the winner of our basket…Grace, a true Purple Warrior, took home the Purple Power Basket! The crazy thing is that Grace’s mom has a best friend who’s children go to school at Nitalia’s school! She had met with Suzann and got all of the Purple Society information for her friend who’s daughter is being treated at Cardons Children’s Hospital…Yep you guessed it…GRACE! So it was destined for our family’s to meet! Anyhow, thats just another one of those “GOD” moments that we have so often. We know Nitalia is up there whispering in Gods ear making things happen for her foundation! We cant thank Cardons Children’s Hospital enough for allowing The Purple Society to be part of their world, and we look forward to an even bigger event next year!!!
